General Properties

coracon ® SOL 5 is a high-performance and environmentally friendly heat transfer and
antifreeze agent for solar systems based on monopropylene glycol (MPG).
• Optimal corrosion protection for all metals used in the system (including copper and aluminum)
• Prevents scale formation and deposits
• Due to its positive ecological and physiological assessment, coracon ® SOL 5 is suitable for all commercial and private systems
• Miscible with water in any ratio
• Neither hazardous substance nor dangerous goods
• Sealing materials are not attacked by either the concentrate or its dilutions

• Nitrite-free, phosphate-free, secondary amine-free, borate-free, 2-ethylhexanoic acid-free
• Biodegradable, OECD 302 B DOC elimination after 28 days: 99.9%
• Evaporation-proof, no crystallization
• Color: clear, slightly yellowish
• Antifreeze base: 1,2-propanediol
• Specific gravity: 1.05 g/ml DIN 51757
• pH value (1:1 with neutral water): 7.5 - 8.5 ASTM-D 1287

Water and System Requirements
The system must be free of contaminants and other liquids (flush with water if necessary).
There should be no deposits on the metal surfaces.
We recommend adding only desalinated or demineralized water to the solar fluid, as salts and minerals in the water can cause deposits in the solar system.


Compatibility with Sealing Materials
coracon ® SOL 5 does not attack the seals commonly used in heating systems.

Environment and Safety
When handling coracon ® SOL 5, the generally applicable protective measures for chemicals must be observed. Further details and instructions are listed in the safety data sheet.

Application Recommendations
• System requirement: DIN standard 4757, Part 1, closed system (no atmospheric oxygen in the system).
• Optimal operating temperature: -30 °C to 170 °C.
• Recommended usage concentration: 50% coracon ® SOL 5 and 50% water
• Recommended minimum product concentration: 35 Vol.-%
• For solar systems with continuous temperatures above 170 °C, install sufficiently large expansion vessels so that the heat transfer fluid can drain from the collectors
